Should You Switch Over to Grok Bot?

Hello there! 👋

I've tested enough AI tools at this point that it takes quite a bit to get me excited about another one.

So when I first tried xAI's new Grok Bot, a few weeks ago, my initial reaction was lukewarm excitement followed by some skepticism.

And somewhere between setting up a small army of specialized bots, giving them access to the same persistent Linux computer, and messaging those same bots from my phone while they continued working in the background...

…it clicked.

This is probably the closest I've gotten so far to the whole "let the bots do the work while you go live your life" promise that agentic AI has been selling us. At least to some extent.

It's still rough around the edges, and I don't think everyone needs it.

But if you have recurring research, site monitoring, inbox work, content pipelines, or other tasks that never really stop, there's something genuinely interesting here.

I spent a little over two weeks using it and wrote up what worked, what didn't, how I'm using my own bot swarm, and whether I think it's worth paying for.
