Godot Just Banned AI Contributions, and the Reason Isn't What You Think

Godot, the open source game engine, just banned AI-generated code from its project. The headlines framed it as an ideology fight, but the actual reason is more practical.

I dug into what the policy actually says, why curl, Ghostty, tldraw and QEMU all got here first, and the three problems nobody has solved yet. Starting with the fact that there's no reliable way to tell whether code was AI-written at all.
